CRISTIANO RONALDO
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, also
known as CR7, is a Portuguese soccer player. He owes his name to his parents'
admiration for the actor and later U.S. President Ronald Reagan. His parents
are Maria Dolores dos Santos Viveiros and José Dinis Aveiro. He was born in the
city of Funchal, on the island of Madeira and grew up in a poor home with his
three siblings. He learned to speak Portuguese, English and Spanish.
He began to stand out among his teammates
at Andorinha, his first soccer club. Later, he joined C. D. Nacional. At the
age of ten, the big Madeira teams were already interested in hiring him.
Cristiano played for Sporting C.P., Manchester United F. C., Real Madrid C. F.,
Juventus F. C. and the Portuguese national team. He has played in five European
Championships, four World Cups, one Confederations Cup and two Nations Leagues.
He managed to
break several records, including being the first player to win four Golden
Boots, being the world's top scorer at the national team level, being the
all-time leading scorer in the Champions League, and being the top scorer in
the history of the Portuguese national team. He’s the player who has won the
UEFA Best Player Award in Europe the most times, with three titles. On December
2020, he was voted the best player of the 21st century.
LIONEL MESSI
Lionel Messi was born in Santa Fe Province on 24 June 1987.
At the age of five, he started playing soccer for Grandoli, a club coached by his father.
The doctors diagnosed as suffering from a hormone deficiency that restricted his growth. Messi's parents, Jorge and Celia, decided on a regimen of nightly growth-hormone injections for their son.
His family moved with Messi to Europe. Leo was only permitted to play friendlies and in the Catalan league. The boy struggled to integrate. He received an often to join Arsenal, instead choosing to remain in Barcelona. He rapidly progressed through the club ranks. The soccer legend has won the World Player of the Year award.
Messi has done so much, he
produced so many magic moments. Ronaldinho told his teammates: “Messi would
become an even better player than me”
On August 10, 2021, Messi joined French club Paris Saint-Germain. He made his debut for the club on August 29.
Messi has come under fire for his inability to help Argentina's national team win a major title. He did lead Argentine to the final of the 2014 World Cup, and was named player of the tournament, although his team lost to Germany. Messi was one of the biggest athletic stars in the world.
